the app that keeps you honest

Put money on the person you want to become.

Kept interviews you, designs your 10-week program, and holds you to it with your own pledge. Nothing is charged up front. Every week you pass clears 10% of your pledge for good, and it can never be charged. Fail a week, and only that 10% is. Keep your word, keep your money.

how it works

Five steps. No motivation required.

01 DESIGN
A 15-minute interview maps your goals, your schedule, and how you have failed before. Kept designs a 10-week program, capped at 3 habits, because more than 3 is how people quit.
02 PLEDGE
Choose $10, $25, $50, or $100. Your card is saved, nothing is charged. The pledge splits into 10 weekly tranches. $0 moves today. Money only ever moves when you break your word.
03 PROVE
Daily evidence, mostly automatic: your watch, GPS gym check-ins, or a photo through the in-app camera with a one-time code. AI verifies in seconds.
04 KEEP
Pass the week: that 10% is cleared for good and your at-risk bar melts toward zero. Fail the week: after a 48-hour appeal window, that 10% is charged. We keep it. We would rather you keep it.
05 GRADUATE
Ten weeks is what habit formation actually takes. You leave with the habits, the receipts, and your money.

why money works

Habit trackers track. Consequences change people.

43%

of habit-tracker users are gone within 30 days. Nothing happens when they quit, so quitting is free.

1.8x

pledging your own money nearly doubles success rates versus no stakes across 35 randomized trials, one of the strongest results in behavioral economics.

10 x 10%

your pledge retires in ten weekly pieces, so relief is always one good week away. Psychologists call it the goal gradient: people speed up near the finish.

the honest part

Yes, if you fail, we keep the money.
Here is why you should take the deal anyway.

Most apps bury this. We lead with it, because the deal only works if it is fair:

APPEAL FIRST
Money never moves silently. A failed week opens a 48-hour appeal before any charge, and ties go to you.
GRACE BUILT IN
One grace day every week, repair windows for late evidence, and a sickness pause that freezes everything. One bad day can never cost you money.
NO DRIP-BILLING
Quit anytime: future tranches cancel instantly, uncharged. Programs that go quiet end themselves. There is a 72-hour cooling-off after you pledge.
PUBLIC RECEIPTS
From cohort one, our numbers go public: success rate, forfeit rate, appeal overturn rate. If we ever get strict to make money, you will see it in the stats.

first cohort · starts october 1

Reserve your spot.

The first cohort is small on purpose: 50 people, 10 weeks, graduating exactly on January 1 while everyone else is still writing resolutions. The first 50 get in on Oct 1; everyone after waits for cohort two.

No charge, no card, just a spot in line.

questions

Asked and answered.

Is this gambling?
No. There is no chance, no prize, and no other players' money. You can only ever get your own pledge back, and the outcome is entirely your own behavior. Gambling needs chance and a prize; Kept has neither.
When is my card actually charged?
Only after a week fails, and only after your 48-hour appeal window closes. Saving your card at the start costs $0. Passed weeks never touch your card at all.
What if I get sick or travel?
Every program includes a sickness and emergency pause that freezes the schedule, plus weekly grace days and repair windows. The system is built so that a bad day costs you nothing and a bad week costs you at most 10%.
How do you verify I actually did it?
Your watch and health data, GPS check-ins with dwell time for gyms, and an in-app camera with a one-time code for everything else, verified by AI in seconds. Humans review every appeal. Old photos and gallery uploads do not work.
Why would you make it fair when you profit from my failure?
Because the numbers will be public. From the first cohort onward we publish success rate, forfeit rate, and appeal overturn rate for everyone to see. A stake app that quietly farms failures dies the moment users compare notes. Our target is a 90%+ member success rate, and the grace days, repair windows, and appeals exist to get you there; the business runs on volume and word of mouth, not on your bad week.
When does the app launch?
iPhone first, with the Oct 1 cohort. Android and Arabic follow. Waitlist members get access in order.
